Pro-Ject's long-lasting and highly successful Debut range has been streamlined lately but the company certainly isn't leaving a gap. As well as the continuing Essential, Genie and Debut S/E3 turntables, the more affordable Pro-Ject options now include the extremely capable Debut Carbon.
As indicated by the name, Pro-Ject's latest turntable has a carbon fibre tonearm and headshell - a design touch shared with the company's premium turntables. The carbon fibre construction increases rigidity and reduces resonance, contributing towards the great sound quality you'd expect from a Pro-Ject record player.
The black high-gloss finish is proving to be the most popular seller for us but six other shiny finishes are available, each for the same cost as the black deck. A dust cover and interconnect are supplied.
Our initial stock sold in no time and no wonder: the specification warrants a higher price than the £300 SRP, especially as, initially, the turntable is supplied with the highly regarded £80 Ortofon 2M Red cartridge.
Thanks to great turntables like the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon, vinyl continues to be a popular source for hi-fi fans. Pick one up from Hi-Fi Stereo. |
